Hitoshura or Shura as he's affectionatlet dubbed is the standard silent protagonist of the Nocturne. His personality is really decided by who you ally with in the game. However, it's most agreed upon in fandom he's simply just a solitary boy, who just happens to be there when the world ends. There's a lot of pressure when you're give the title of "demi-fiend" and demanded to take charge of the new world, and yet Shura keeps his cool and just continues on. Battling friends and fellow survivors, and just trusting the mysterious old man and woman in black--Shura can only keep on moving forward. Shura is potrayed often though with a bit of snark in the Japanese fandom and to some in the English fandom. Naoki was just a regular teenager with his own friends, family, and life. That all changed when he and his two friends Issamu and Chikai were witnesses to the end of the world. When is given the migatama to turn him part demon, Naoki becomes the demi-fiend aka the Hitoshura. Under vauge directions from the one who granted him demonic power, Shura begins to build up allies and continue on to try and make some order in this new world--it is only on the way to the final battle does he truly realize what is going on. After having to kill his two best friends, Naoki found himself here, without his allies and barely retaining his half-demon form. |
